bloglist Palin in book: McCain aides kept me 'bottled up'

The rumors are true, according to Sarah Palin: The McCain-Palin campaign was not a happy family. In Palin's new memoir, "Going Rogue," she confirms reports of tension between her aides and those of the 2008 Republican presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain. The vice presidential candidate confirms that she had wanted to speak on election night, but was denied the chance and says she was kept "bottled up" from reporters during the campaign.

Palin also writes harshly of CBS anchor Kati

Brittney McWhorter Animals in Heaven...

I believe their are animals in Heaven... maybe not your personal dog, I don’t know that... but there are animals in heaven, Heaven is a creation in Gods eyes and his creation includes animals, in the bible it says will see the lion lay with the lamb.... and when it talks about Jesus coming back what does he say Jesus comes back on? A HORSE! so maybe my dogs won’t be there but animals will be! Most of this information I found in revelations. Continue

Tiger My first day..

Today was my first day volunteering at the local hospital. The Children's hospital has a "family room" for the parents to come in and relax while their child is being taken care of in the neo or prenatal icu. It is sponsored by Ronald McDonald and is run strictly on volunteers to open and staff the room. Free coffee, snacks, and entertainment is available for the families while they wait and everything is donated. I must say I was a little worried about my first day. Typically, things go wrong w… Continue

Amanda S. You Can Get Much Further With A Kind Word And A Stinky Eye Than You Can With A Kind Word Alone

I received this email to my inbox just a few minutes ago. I have had a horrible day and I keep looking at the clock and I swear it's going backwards...Is this day EVER going to end?? It has not, however, impaired my ability to slice my way through bullshit with surgical precision. Hello, My name is Greg Mottola and I work as a Chief Manager of Department of employment in Moon Group Inc. This letter confirms, that your resume (found at careerbuilder.com) has been duly processed and youContinue

Top Nine Superstitions: Do You Believe Them? Breaking Mirrors That is an automatic seven year bad luck sentence! Come on now, mirrors can only do two bad things to you; a mirror can cut you (if broken and not handle properly) or let you know how attractive you might not be. That’s it. Friday the 13th Unless you live near Crystal Lake, I really don’t think you have anything to be concerned about. Black Cat Xing If a black cat crosses in front of your car, that’s bad luck (don’t know what kind… Continue

Alison Bratton This is for Big Al

This is one of the kindest things you may ever see.. It is not known who replied, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office of the US postal service. Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words… Continue

Kidd Kraddick Watch Their Feet

When I was trying to make the high school basketball team, I went to a summer basketball camp and the coach was teaching us defense. He said that a good defender doesn’t even know what his opponent looks like, because he’s never once looked him in the eye. But he should be able to describe his shoes in great detail. Watch the feet. They can head fake ya, they can ball fake ya, but t… Continue

Big Al STRETCH, R.I.P. baby!

I just realized that its almost 7pm and I have not turned my T.V. on once today. Today was not a good day. I woke up this morning at 1am to the sounds of my dog stretch not having a good night. she was having a seizure. I worked to try to calm her down and by 3am she seemed too be dozing off to sleep. Later, I carried her to the dog park so she could take care of her business and brought her back. I knew that I had to make the decision today. I did. I was going to put her to sleep and out of her… Continue

Do you think you can save the world? Would you even know where to begin? With so much going on How can you not feel helpless? But maybe it's just a matter of us being happy Not an easy thing to achieve But imagine the possibilities What if to change the world All we need to do is be happy ourselves It starts from within and resonates out Help those who our suffering in a pit of despair Reach out a hand and show them you care Help them become happy and be in control A tiny pebble in a pond, ripp… Continue

Jenna Leaving is the Hardest Part

My first Kidd's Kids trip was such a better experience than I anticipated. I figured that I would be very emotional for the duration of the trip but that wasn't the case at all. I cry at infomercials about dogs so of course I figured I would be inconsolable when I surrounded by these kids. In reality, coming home was the hardest part of the trip. As I put up all of my trip pictures on Facebook, I just started crying thinking about how I might never see any of these kids and their families again.… Continue

SwingingFriar Thank You to the Men and Women of the Armed Forces

Living in San Diego, you can't help but get caught up in the military life that surrounds the city. Head north up the 5 freeway, just into Oceanside, and you'll run into Marine Base Camp Pendelton. Head south on the 15 freeway and you'll find Miramar Naval Air Station or more famously known as the the place where a lot of the movie Top Gun was filmed. Head even further south on the 5 freeway and you'll find North Island Naval Air Station. So living in what is known as a "military town," you're… Continue

Kellie Rasberry Sad day for Big Al...

How sad was it to hear Big Al fall apart over his dog today. It was even sadder to watch. How awful is it to have to make the decision to put your dog to sleep. Stretch was a good and loyal friend to Big Al for 13 years -- ever since he rescued her from the pound. I'd like to think there's a doggie heaven so Al can see her again. And there are a few wonderful dogs and a cat or two I'd like to see again, too. My kid is so bad, I think Nanny Laura is giving up, too. How do you discipline a child… Continue

Andréa Voran On Dogs and Boyfriends

I haven't written on Kiddnation in a long time since I've started missvoran.wordpress.com (shameless plug, I know). But I read Al's post and it broke my heart. Ever since Toby left for Korea our puppy Cosette has been living with me. She's not quite a year and is definitely a handful. More energy in one living being I have never seen. And between working full time and school full time really the last thing I want to do when I ge… Continue

Big Al God bless you stretch!

I just got back from the kids kids trip. And now its back from the land of everything that’s perfect and magical to everything that is real. It was 4 or 5 days of smiles and happiness and little javarise was just one of the kids that headed from the airport to the hospital. In his case, he had to go to take yet another treatment for his leukemia. Im praying for you buddy. Being surrounded by the kids on Monday that were dealing with their different conditions made me remain silent on what I had… Continue

Nora Campbell Putting my dog down

Hey Big Al, Just wanted you to know that I had to go through the same thing this past summer. We had our family dog for about 17 years. She got to where she couldn't see very well, she had arthritis in her hind legs, she was acting like she was getting dementia. It was really hard watching her. I would walk her twice a day. The last few days of her life she could hardly make it more than past the front of my house. I kept telling my husband that I didn't want to have to put her down - I didn't f… Continue
